CCT Managed Backup

Your business data is one of your most crucial assets. But what happens if it is impacted by a software or hardware failure, natural disaster or cyber-attack? In the event of a primary data failure, you need to ensure that you have a recent backup.

CCT Managed Backup ensures you are prepared with a robust and secure backup system. We back up your servers four times per day to an on-premise backup system, and complete an offsite replication once daily to one of CCT’s Datacentres.

What is included:

  • Onboarding and Setup

CCT will install a managed backup appliance (black backup box) onsite with your servers. This appliance is the first point of backup (and recovery) for your data. Once installed, CCT will start replicating backups to our datacentre. Depending on your internet connection and the amount of data to replicate we may “seed the backups” by copying the backups to an external hard drive and taking them to the datacentre.   • Disaster Recovery response

In the event of a disaster CCT will be able to assist with restoring data. Anything from individual files through to standing up Full Virtual Machines. Restoring Data from the backup appliance on-premises is the quickest and easiest method for file restores and recovering virtual machines. Alternative options for faster recovery are available. This can include instant stand-up appliances to allow servers to be “stood up” in close to an hour instead of restoring the server. All of these services are charged as time and materials.

  • Data Retention

CCT will keep backups within the standard retention schedule. CCTs standard retention policy is as follows:

  • 14 Days of inter-daily backups (4 times per day)
  • Daily Backups for 30 Days
  • Weekly Backup for 12 Weeks
  • 13 Monthly backups

Offsite backups occur within 24 hours once the onsite backup has been performed. All backups are encrypted and replicated to our datacentre.

  • Offsite Storage

CCT includes 1TB of offsite storage in all our managed backup plans. Additional storage is billed on consumption monthly, in 100GB blocks. A further offsite backup can be requested (i.e Orange and Sydney) for an additional fee.

  • Reporting and Maintenance

CCT will provide an automated monthly backup report to your nominated email. This is a high-level traffic light report that shows successful backups or if there was an issue each day. CCT aims to keep the verified success rate at a minimum of 90% over the month. Any data that was unable to be backed up during that day will be proactively monitored and remedied, CCT monitor the backups daily and performs all maintenance to ensure backups are successful. On request CCT will provide a screenshot of a server restored from backup alongside your production server quarterly.
