Cyber 101: The inside scoop
The proportion of businesses directly impacted by ransomware has almost doubled in twelve months: from just over a third in 2020 to two thirds in 2021.
The costs and reputational damage of one cyber-attack could mean the end of your business. But the Insurance Council of Australia estimates that only 20% of SMEs and 35-70% of larger organisations have standalone cyber insurance.
As part of cybersecurity awareness month this October, Colton Computer Technologies and Sophos are teaming up with Orange, Bathurst and Western NSW Business Chambers to offer a cybersecurity education and training session to small to medium businesses in the area.

Mitch Colton first started Colton Computer Technologies in 1999 in his parents’ garage. Since then, he has grown the business to nearly 30 staff members. CCT is now the biggest locally owned IT provider in the region.
